A friend of mine needed skin to practice on for her internship at a tattoo shop in the city, she did an amazing job. This was her 6th tattoo and it is incredibly detailed and clean. I could not be happier. Quote is from The Lord of the Rings written by JRR Tolkien. Done at Doc Yager Tattoo Co by Colleen Kaster in Rochester, ny.

I got this tattoo a few days ago. It is for my Granddad who passed away Tuesday January 10th 2012. It says “You still live on in my father’s eyes” and it is written in my own handwriting. It is the lyrics to Autumn by Paolo Nutini, which my brother and I sang at my Granddad’s Memorial.

My best friend and I got these done on December 28th, 2011. The top is mine, the bottom is hers. This was taken just a couple hours after we walked out of the shop.Normally, I’m not a huge fan of “matching” tattoos. But we have been through hell and back, more than anyone will ever realize, and when everything always falls apart, or we hit rock bottom, the other was always there to reach out a hand, even when nothing else was left. I have saved her life, and she’s saved mine. We live halfway across the country from each other now, me in Colorado and her in Pennsylvania, and we’re closer than ever. Both of us went back to our hometown for the holidays. She paid for these as my Christmas present and I couldn’t have been happier. I remember the phonecall I got from her saying, “So… Merry Christmas. We’re getting matching tattoos.” :) We debated nonstop for those few days about what to get, and finally, I had decided on those lyrics from the song “Dig” by Incubus, because it’s something we used to play for each other when we needed a pick me up. The font is in the same style as Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, also symbolic, since that was the topic of our very first conversation ever.
This is my second tattoo, and her third.Maybe it’s because I have a high pain tolerance, but the spot we picked surprisingly didn’t hurt nearly as much as I thought it would! It was just an amazing experience and every time I look at my arm now, I smile. These were done at Old Tyme Tattoo in Titusville, Florida, by Camron Austin. Good guy and an even better artist. :)
